Early in 2009, I decided to capture an image every calendar day for an entire year. 365 days later, I have more gray hair, have aged a decade and alienated loved ones, but I did it and, most importantly, I didn’t miss a single day. Comments and criticisms are welcomed, both on composition and technique, and on content. Thanks for looking.

Palladia (Day 106) I love this tree. It towers over the house it’s next to; the lowest branches have to be thirty feet up. I've been waiting for a gray sky and flat light so that I could pull up the blacks in post to lose detail in the tree while maintaining contrast against the sky. Fortunately the weather cooperated today; the tree will soon be flush with leaves. For a more graphic take with less gray and more white, click here. (2009-04-20 5:02pm)

on September 26, 2009Was is coincidence that your shot on 4-20 was of trees?

on April 22, 2009I love tree branch shots! I actually just posted one almost like this a few days ago. I thought my sky was mean looking, this one looks about ready to rain or already raining. My sky was only playing with me lol.

on April 21, 2009It is bare, but that's what I like about it along with the blue/grey toned sky. It seems like the kind of tree that should be in a cemetary. I much prefer this version to the white one.

on April 21, 2009Nice silhouette -- definitely gives a "stark" feeling.

on April 21, 2009Alright, I wasn't going to comment on this one - I mean it's a tree. A bare one.
But, I'm looking at the thumbnails in your gallery and I just realized that the shot from two days ago appears to be a negative image of this same tree... about to be wiped out by a giant wave! How cool is that?? Thought you might appreciate that. ; )
