A Bad Day for Both of Us (Day 41)
This poor guy, along with two of his brothers, were sacrificed for Rita and my Valentine’s Day pleasure. He had a bad day.
I did as well but only as it related to my photography (Rita and I had a lovely evening btw). Earlier in the day, I went to a ski jumping competition in Vermont. I had taken a point-and-shoot shot, which was to be both my SOD and a lead-in to a gallery with my shots of the event taken with my D300.
Unfortunately, I had forgotten that I had been bracketing for HDR’s the last time I used my camera. To ensure that I didn’t miss anything, I avoided chimping, knowing that I would be able to work with the resulting images. Not so. Only one in five was usable without too much PP, and the ones that weren’t blown out or underexposed, were poorly composed or where blurry. As a result, I quickly snapped this picture of Larry before we sat down to eat him just to get my daily.
The moral of the story is that I need to spend more time with my D300 and I need to focus more on what I am doing. I am also considering expanding the scope of my little assignment here to allow posting of D300 shots, rather than limiting this gallery to just my P&S. We will see.

on February 15, 2009LOL! Love the detail and comp of this shot. Poor Larry (that's my hubby's name by the way .... I'll be sure and show him the other Larry ....) and at least you made a good save with this as your daily. You're not alone, in having to think about what you're doing. I'm notorious for that. :-)
