Early in 2009, I decided to capture an image every calendar day for an entire year. 365 days later, I have more gray hair, have aged a decade and alienated loved ones, but I did it and, most importantly, I didn’t miss a single day. Comments and criticisms are welcomed, both on composition and technique, and on content. Thanks for looking.

Girlie Drink Summer Style (Day 142)
Summer is officially here so I have transitioned to iced caramel macchiatos. I love how the caramel and espresso slowly mix down into the milk; kind of like a black and tan.
So why the garishly over saturated and contrasty shot? Wasn’t interesting to me straight out of the camera (rightfully so … I know what you are thinking) so I decided to play with Lightroom sliders (my BFFs) until I made the shot almost offensively bad.
Man, I wish we lived in a more urban area. I refuse to spend my days taking landscape shots … “not that there is anything wrong with that”.

on May 30, 2009Fun shot and I like the pp, but I like your commentary even more. I love urban shots...we are outside of Philadelphia, but often take a ride into NYC for me to shoot some shots and maybe catch a movie and lunch! Urban shooting can be challenging, but so many choices!

on May 30, 2009Man up, nancy-boy! Drink whatever you like, but don't show off and tell everyone about these habits. :)
That said, I sneak one of these on occasion myself. I like the high contrast look here. I think you'd do well to shoot some more nature shots, but stick with the closeups, you have a good eye for details. And besides, bugs, snakes, and poisonous plants all make interesting subjects.
Finally, I was going to add this to my other note, but the Starbucks shot seemed more appropriate. The two deer cavorting in my front lawn were both bucks. If you had clicked on the unpixelated link, you'd have found out sooner.

on May 30, 2009definitely appropriate to crank the saturation. it works really well. like this shot! i agree about the urban shots. i wish the same. i am a bridge away from a small city (wilmington, delaware) but don't own kevlar so am inclined not to photo there at night. and the wife gives me that look when i mention taking a ride to a city at 11pm. "photos? yeah, right!"

on May 27, 2009Coffee is NEVER offensively bad lol. I get the shakes just looking at it. "They tried to make me go to rehab and I said No, No, NO".
