Sloth (Day 291)
Mind a rant?
This morning I overheard two fellow employees talking:
Woman One: “I didn’t use the stairs today. I did them yesterday.”
Woman Two (while nodding in solidarity), “Yeah”.
It’s important to note that we are located on the third floor of a four floor building and the entrance they used is located half way between the first and second floors. Translation: thirty-five steps (I counted) and they were talking about climbing them like it was a full-blown, aerobic workout.
It’s one thing if they had a physical impairment that made climbing difficult (prosthetic legs, missing torso, or the like) but these were able-bodied, thirty somethings.
Worse yet, I am actually aware of folks that walk down to the first floor only to take the elevator to the second floor; thus avoiding just thirteen steps.
No wonder our insurance premiums are on the rise.
... Just my opinion.

on October 26, 2009I am soo sheltered. I had no idea people were this "unfit". Should I start boasting about my time on the eliptical now?
Oh, yea. You make me laugh!!!

on October 25, 2009You're not kidding! It's even worse when you see the laziness of the young people! It's no wonder that even the ones who still play sports are getting all torn up with twists, pulls and sprains- it's the only time they move all week! That's my rant!
