Tattoo You (Day 281) Decided to try my hand at light painting tonight at my friend Bob’s studio. This was one of my first efforts and it had a tribal tattoo vibe to it that I really liked. This is a single shot right out of the camera; no post other than cropping. The light source was a cheap flashlight, which worked in my favor as it helped create the inconsistent tubular light streaks. The flare in the middle was were the flashlight beam hit the camera sensor straight on. To create, I placed my Canon G10 on a tripod, set up a 15 second exposure, clicked off the self-timer, ran into position and, once the shutter opened, waved the flashlight like mad. To see a less abstract light painting that I did a few shots later, click here. (2009-10-12 7:03pm)

on October 16, 2009Pete! This is the coolest thing I've seen in a while!! I'm so jazzed about how this turned out, I'm tempted to say something original like, 'Nice capture.' But I won't. All I'll say is you're pretty dang good with a camera, my brotha!
