Early in 2009, I decided to capture an image every calendar day for an entire year. 365 days later, I have more gray hair, have aged a decade and alienated loved ones, but I did it and, most importantly, I didn’t miss a single day. Comments and criticisms are welcomed, both on composition and technique, and on content. Thanks for looking.

Outdoor Use Only (Day 177)
One of my friends and I headed to Hinsdale, NH tonight (think Deliverance), to pick up fireworks for his annual July 4th soirée. He hosts; I always light the works (which is like Christmas morning to me … I can’t wait).
While this is not quite eligible for my Redneck Series, I thought that the label on this $50 cake (that’s firework speak) was pretty funny. BTW, our finale piece is a 500g cake called Sea Monster and, according to the slightly inbred salesman, “It’s got a mighty good break”.

on July 3, 2009Is it just a coincidence that the label had both "mother -in-law" and "shoots flaming balls" on it? Sorry, just had to.... Your gallery is a pleasure to view. Great sense of wit and wonderful shots.

on July 2, 2009Oh dear.... I smell noise! Please be careful of those sweet cakes!
I do love the label. It's amazing that someone actually got paid (and probalby a hefty sum) to illustrate this. Very busy!
