Early in 2009, I decided to capture an image every calendar day for an entire year. 365 days later, I have more gray hair, have aged a decade and alienated loved ones, but I did it and, most importantly, I didn’t miss a single day. Ivy III (Day 270)
Never noticed that ivy changed color with the seasons. Was hoping for better lighting today but was faced with gray skies, which made the colors a little flat. Saturation in post brought out the colors in the leaves but also the blue in the fire escape. Not at all happy with this effort - oh well …

on October 5, 2009Pete...I actually quite like the blue on the fire escape! The brightness of the blue, combined with the contrasty shadows under the ivy leaves is striking in a pleasant sort of way. They're nearly the exact colors you'd see if you shot a line of brightly colored maples against a mid-day blue sky.
