Room 105 (Day 207) Croatia aside, we have been very lucky with the hotels we have stayed in while in Europe (I always use Trip Advisor and strongly recommend it for research). Our ultra-modern hotel in Munich was no exception. In addition to a cool glass shower that was actually part of the bedroom, room numbers were displayed on the floor in the halls using down lighting coming from above the doors. Of course, I thought this might make an interesting shot. Trouble was that hall lighting was motion activated and, when on, deluded the contrast of the numbers on the carpet considerably. So in order to get this shot, I remained perfectly still in the hallway for five minutes and then carefully clicked the shutter once the lights went off. All the while, hoping that no one would leave their room and reset the timer. For an alternate shot of the Munich Hauptbahnhof (train station), which we passed through on our way to the airport to head home, click here. (2009-07-30 8:19am)
