Early in 2009, I decided to capture an image every calendar day for an entire year. 365 days later, I have more gray hair, have aged a decade and alienated loved ones, but I did it and, most importantly, I didn’t miss a single day. Comments and criticisms are welcomed, both on composition and technique, and on content. Thanks for looking.

Slow Business Day (Day 173)
We are using an out-of-town vet this week for the Money Pits (aka, our cats, Cooper and Hudson) and have been passing this sign going to and fro. I am not sure whether the used car dealership is doing themselves a service having this on the side of the road. It certainly doesn’t instill confidence in me.
I'd call to tell them so but …
Footnote #1: I was originally planning to do some sort of tribute to MJ, the manchild who passed away yesterday, but couldn't find my favorite glitter glove and thought better of using an oven mitt in its place.
Footnote #2: This was shot with my 50mm 1.4. In retrospect, I really didn't need that shallow a DOF...

on July 3, 2009I too like the shallow DOF. Better focal point.

on June 29, 2009nice, pete! i actually dig the shallow DOF as it lends to one's imagining some of the mutants from "the hills have eyes" in the dark, blurred background. nice detail and angle.

on June 27, 2009I like the shallow dof, too -- really makes the sign stand out. Wonderful textures and crop, too!
..... you really need to find that glitter glove .... I'd pay to see that!
